Help without Frontiers was established as a non-profit organisation in Bozen/ South Tyrol on the 12th of September 2002.
Our aim is to provide help and support across national frontiers, as well as across the frontiers that may exist in our minds and hearts. We want to help people who, through no fault of their own, find themselves in an emergency situation, from which they are not able to escape without assistance.
Help without Frontiers is supported by its members and the nine board members, voluntary helpers, one full-time staff member and the staff in our field office in Mae Sot.
The board members and other helping members only get allowances and expenses covered when there is funding available. These costs are not covered with donation money but with a seperate income for the administration.
Our full-time staff is paid with the income received from the state of Italy, from the optional 5 per mille allocatable for organisations in the tax return.

Transparency is our top priority. Every expense is budgeted beforehand, and there is no expense made without a receipt. All receipts are documented correctly.
To cover our expenses for administration, travels and marketing, we are dependant on private or public contributors.
We need financial means to cover expenses for our office, our staff, our administration cost, our travels in Europe and to Thailand/Burma, as well as for information campaigns, events, fundraising and initiatives to raise awareness.
We also need donations in the form of allowances in kind, services and procurement of contacts.

Our donors have the right to know that the money they entrust to us is used for their intentions only, as well as economically and efficiently, to help as many people as possible, by committing to absolute transparency.
We therefore decided from the beginning not to cover costs for administration, travel and marketing in South Tyrol using donations, but instead from an income intended for this purpose. We call it our 100% Donation Guarantee.
