Help without Frontiers Portrait
Help without Frontiers was established as a non-profit organisation on initiative of the independent corporate consultant Benno Röggla in Bozen/ South Tyrol on the 12th of September 2002. Mainly we support refugees and people in need from and in Burma/Myanmar and in Thailand.
From the start Help without Frontiers committed to absolute transparency. Our 100% Donation guarantee means that no donations will be used for administration, travels and marketing in the home country, but must be used from separate sources of income. Originally started as a small and manageable entity, the organisation quickly developed, thanks to the solidarity of so many people and the active support and cooperation of our members. Today the organisation oversees projects for thousands of Burmese refugees in Thailand and in their jungle hideouts in Burma/Myanmar.security to our donors.
Broad and lasting help
The most important projects are our "Ray of Hope Schools" for refugee children from Burma/Myanmar, our programme "Yummy! Meals for Schools", our "Rays of Youth" Project, our "The Happy Tailor" sewing workshop for income generation as well as the Prosthetics workshop at the Mae Tao Clinic.
In 2006 Help without Frontiers Austria was launched, and the one in Switzerland launched in 2010. Help without Frontiers Foundation Thailand also started its work in 2010. All the organisations work with the same principles, where transparency and donation safety have top priority.
In 2006 Help without Frontiers received the medal of merit from the region of South Tyrol. The organisation’s founder Benno Röggla was awarded the honorary medal of his hometown Brixen in November 2009.
Since 2010 the organisation is an incorporated association. This limits the liability of the board members.
