Volunteer in Thailand

We are in constant need of volunteers to help in our office in Mae Sot/Thailand as well as in our projects. We expect volunteers to be serious, tactful and dedicated as well as independent and responsible for themselves. All volunteers must follow our Child Protection Policy and the Code of Conduct.

Who are we looking for? 
Administration staff, teachers, doctors and medics, computer experts, craftspeople, trainers, educators of both genders are always welcome. We also need other skills from time to time.

Requirements

• Language: good written and spoken English skills are a necessary condition. Other language skills are an advantage (Burmese, Karen, Thai)

• Skills: besides professional experience, also capacity for teamwork and flexibility, travel experience with a focus on asia.

• Adaptiveness: You will be living and getting around in an unfamiliar environment, under basic and sometimes complicated conditions. A volunteer placement is not a holiday, and there are no regular working hours. 

• Self-maintenance: You are responsible for all costs during your stay. This includes travel, accomodation and food costs.

• Insurance: You are responsible for your own travel and health insurance.
• Vaccinations: we recommend Hepatitis A and B, Thyphoid, Rabies and maybe Japanese encephalitis. Mae Sot is not a Malaria area.

• Duration: we expect a minimum stay of 6 months. Only in exceptional cases, for example for a specially skilled person, does it make sense for a person to stay for a shorter period.
