Painting T-Shirts at Ah Yone Oo School
On the 29th of December 2011 we did a very special activity at the Ah Yone Oo school. Hänn, a volunteer from South Tyrol (Italy), who is teaching English at Ah Yone Oo school, organized the activity “Painting T-Shirts”. Before she came to Mae Sot, she had collected money for this project. The T-Shirts were made from the Help without Frontiers Sewing Workshop “The Happy Tailor”, where migrant women get a fair paid job, so that they can build themselves an existence.
Everybody of the about 130 students, from nursery up to Grade 6 got his own T-Shirt and they could paint it, how they wanted. The students painted with their fingers, because brushes would have been to expensive, but they made some very nice and beautiful T-Shirts.
All in all, this activity was a great success, beacause the children enjoyed it a lot, to paint their own T-Shirts and they were very happy, to have such a special T-Shirt. We would like to thank the donors, because without them, we couldn’t do this great activity.
Thank you to: Anne Raffeiner & family, Stefan Bernhard, Marion Rinner, Paul Bernhard, Verena Platzgummer & family.
