History:
The school opened in 2000 but was closed three years later by the local police. In 2007 it reopened at the 44km mark. In the old location, the school was raided many times by the military, providing very poor security for the students. The school moved to the new location at the 42km mark last school year, where the security situation is a lot better. All parents work in the surrounding fields and live in poor conditions. The school was registered by the local Ministry of Education in December 2008. The spanish NGO "Colabora Birmania" built more school buildings, toilets, a kitchen and dormitory buildings, allowing more students to be accepted.
