History:
The school was founded by the headmaster in 1999. The school started off as a primary and middle school. In 2001 a high school level was added. The school was constantly looking for support and volunteer teachers, and was mainly funded by private persons.
The school's dormitory currently houses around 80 students. Most of them come from very poor families or are orphans. Some come from Burma to Thailand to continue their education, as it is very expensive in Burma. Since the 2008/09 school year all running costs are covered by Help without Frontiers. The food for the school and dormitory is provided by our 'Yummy! Meals for Schools' programme. At the end of 2010 the school moved to a new land and new buildings.
Main Problems:
- Students' and teachers' security.
Goals and Plans:
- Provide education to victims of the military dictatorship in Burma
- Take care of children who are orphans, fatherless, motherless or rejected
- Morally strengthen the students
- Improve their general knowledge
- Find scholarships for the students to access higher education
