History:

The school is located in Karen State close to the Thai-Burma border. The area is under control of KNU (Karen National Union), DKBA (Democratic Karen Buddhist Army) and SPDC (State Peace and Development Council). It was founded by the community leaders and the villagers. Help without Frontiers has been supporting the primary school since 2005. Most of the villagers are Karen and work as farmers or trade goods. The school was shut down during fighting, but is running normally again.

Main problems:

• The area is not secure due to fighting
• Transportation, especially during rainy season
• Limited food

• Education for underprivileged children
• Ensure the school is running
• Improve the school environment
• Keep the children healthy
