History:
Parami School was founded by the "Federation Trade Union of Burma" in 1999 to provide education to migrant workers' children in Mae Sot. In 2009/10 a new school building was set up and the whole school has moved to a new land and new buildings.
To improve the children's opportunity to work after school, vocational courses are offered at middle school. There is a dormitory attached, and both the school and dormitory receive daily food from our "Yummy! Meals for Schools" programme.
Main problems:
- Not enough space to learn
- Parents' poor living conditions
- Security
Goals and plans:
- Education for refugee children
- Improve the teaching quality
- Improve the children's general knowledge and self-esteem
