Youth Role Model. The Peer Group
To coordinate activities with schools better and to spread the base of the youth project, 20 students have been chosen at the schools to become "Peers" and are being trained. They motivate their friends to join and are acting as role models.
The selection process is strict, because every "Peer" has to be and stay a role model. The "Peers" have have a good reputation amngst their friends, also because they learn and experience things which are unique. That's why the list of applicants is long. They have own rules set up, which includes sanctions and exclusion, for example if behaviour or accomplishment in school are not fit the criteria anymore.
The training of "Peers" inlcudes all ascpects of awareness raising, offerd by Rays of Youth at the schools. The "Peers" have to work hard, because they not only have to be good students but also use their times in the evening and on weekends for trainings and helping during events concerning the programme.
