The war in Iraq has some consequences even in Mae Sot, Thailand. Big NGOs started pulling out financial and logistic aids in the area even before the war began. Many important projects like the family planning campaign were left half way through for the lack of supplies, condoms in this specific case.
HIV is expanding fast, and with it infant mortality and abortions; therefore this campaign is vital to soften up the burden of sorrow and despair of these poor people.
We have to go on with the family planning campaign and to do so, we need information material and most of all condoms, contraceptive pills and supplies.
So far the Clinic managed to get this material only through NGOs.
